In urban areas with a high percentage of impermeable surface rainwater can cause flooding. In case no open water bodies are within reach and the groundwater table is not too high rainwater infiltration can solve flooding problems. Kilian Water has been involved in many retrofitting projects in the city of Arnhem (see: flooding in Arnhem). We have designed infiltration systems for approximately 20,000 square meters of roof and paved surfaces in Arnhem alone.
